How do I record by playing an acoustic guitar? Wish I could call someone to discuss this whole music recording site.

Sorry, but there is no phone support. Questions on these forums are answered by unpaid volunteers writing replies.

And just to be clear: the MuseScore software discussed here on musescore.org is largely devoted to music notation i.e. creating a score to be printed or exported to PDF format. Being able to hear the music playing or creating a sound file (FLAC, WAV, MP3, OGG) is is also well supported.

But no, MuseScore does not enable you to record your own playing on an acoustic guitar. The nearest MuseScore gets to this is using a MIDI keyboard to input notation by playing the notes in sequence on the keyboard.

See the Handbook: "Entering Notes and Rests":

Muse does not record sound. It is the wrong application for that. You will need to look elsewhere.

Musescore is intended to produce music notation using either the PC keyboard or a Midi keyboard or a mouse as an input device. It also will play back music notation that it has created.

Take a look here to see what Musescore can do. https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4
