Export to pdf file - systembreaks are not exported

• Dec 16, 2023 - 13:17

When I export a score to a pdf-file using the "export to pdf" function all system breaks added individually are ignored in the exported pdf-file. This error doesn´t occur when exporting the score using print to pdf. In this case all individually added system breaks appear in the resulting pdf-file. This works, but is much less comfortable, as for example instrument/staff designations have to be added manually before printing the sheet to a pdf-file. As I like to export the sheets for an alto- and a tenor-sax I especially appreciate being able to just change the instrument and get the right designation on the sheet without adding a separate text-box every time.

I use musescore 4.1.1.232071203 on a Linux (cinnamon)-System.
The same error occurs on a windows 11 system and on a MacOS-System either, each time using the up to date version of musescore.

I would be grateful for any advice to solve this problem.

Apparently, when PDF exporting, MS also reads the MusicXML export setting.
If you select "All layout" or "System and page breaks" there, the PDF export should be fine.

Dear Ben,

thanks for your advice - but this doesn't solve my problem. My MusicXML-Stettings were set to "All Layout" and I tried out all other options meanwhile, My individual system bereaks never were exported correctly to the pdf-file - so the MusicXM-Setting don't seem to have any effect on the pdf-export.

So I still would be grateful for any advice on this matter...
