selecting a clef in the tool

• Dec 30, 2023 - 16:45

I am attempting to convert bass clef notes to treble clef for a baritone T.C. part. I am told to select the bass clef then transpose a major 9th. I could use some assistance finding the appropriate functions in the software.

If you are copying/converting from an existing MuseScore score:
Create a stave with treble clef. Copy the bass notes to this stave. Then select the notes and change octave so that the notes fall within the voice range.

If you are entering the notes into MuseScore from a printed score:
Read the bass notes and enter them into the treble clef, taking account of the octave change. "Transposing" a major ninth is not correct - a bass clef C becomes a treble clef C, just in different octave to suit the higher singing voice. Yes, it will be in a different position on the stave, but it hasn't been transposed to a different key.

Unless you mean from a transposing instrument to voice?
