Export Parts seems faulty - Two parts play in mp3 file

• Jan 19, 2024 - 18:11

Upon export of mp3 files and MIDI files, Flute 1 and 2 BOTH play in the Flute 1 files and both play in the Flute 2 files.

I've followed both the Handbook (Renaming, duplicating and deleting parts) and the video "MuseScore in Minutes: Layouts & Parts":

I'm actually doing this for a choir, so what you called "Flute 1" in your examples I call "Soprano", and what you call "Flute 2" in your examples I call "Alto". I do not want the Alto part to play in the Soprano mp3 or MIDI, and I do not want the Soprano part to play in the Alto mp3 or MIDI.

(FYI: PDF exports parts correctly.)

(I also realize that I seem to have messed up the lyrics in this file because they only appear on the overall file and on the Alto part but not on Tenor, etc., but I'm not worried about that at the moment. I care about the mp3 and MIDI files.)

Thank you!
Roxanne

They were originally on the same treble staff. I then duplicated it (as the video shows) and created Flute 2. I then hid (closed the eye) Flute 2 in the Flute 1 instrument, and hid Flute 1 in the Flute 2 instrument. When I then Export to PDF for all instruments, it correctly makes two separate PDFs: one that only has Flute 1 in it and one that only has Flute 2 in it. However, for mp3s, they're both in both files.
