Triplet beam across rest
I am writing a piece that frequently uses the figure of eight-rest-eighth within a group of eighth note triplets. Musescore is making the eighth notes with individual flags, but I would prefer it beam across the rest. I know that I can do this manually by selecting the rest and clicking join beams, but it happens so often in the piece, I would like to set it as a default for triplets. Is there a way to do that?

You can't set it as default since the default is already the default. You can, however, set up custom shortcuts for beaming actions. I have the following:
\ = break beam left
| - join beams
and you can add more.
