Can't load instruments in Kontakt 6 or 7 with MuseScore 4

Hello,

I'm trying to get Kontakt hooked up with MuseScore 4, but I'm running into a weird set of errors, and haven't had much success finding anyone else having previously posted about them online. I hope I'm in the right place for this.

When I try to load an instrument from Kontakt 7 from within MuseScore 4, I get this weird UI that appears to be displaying every single UI from the instrument at once:

None of the keyboard keys make any sound, and if I close the player and try to start playback, MuseScore 4 crashes. It doesn't appear to be an issue with Kontakt 7 itself - if I start Kontakt 7 manually and go to the same instrument, it looks fine and the keyboard makes the sounds you'd expect:

I've also tried using Kontakt 6, but then I just get this error message when I open it from MuseScore 4:

Resources online that talk about this error message say that you should click OK and then fix it from the Kontakt UI, but this error message causes MuseScore 4 to freeze, seemingly forever, so I can't do anything after it pops up.

If anyone would be able to assist, I'd be most appreciative, as I'm currently unable to use Kontakt at all in MuseScore. I'm on Windows 11, if that's relevant.

I'm having the same issue. I use Kontakt 7 for a specific steel drum library. Lately when I load MuseScore 4, they load without the Kontakt 7 instruments. When I try to re-establish the link, Kontakt 7 AND MuseScore freeze completely, and I have to use the task manager to quit the program.
I'm also using Windows 11.

There are known bugs in MuseScore 4.2.1 that interfere with the use of Kontakt 7. An issue has been opened in GitHub and assigned to a developer. Hopefully the next version of MuseScore will include a fix, as many users are frustrated by this regression.

For many months Kontakt was working well in MuseScore 4.2. But after testing in MuseScore 4.2.1 (regarding a known issue of a blank Kontackt screen) I updated to Kontact 7.8.

Now when I attempt to open Kontakt 7.8, in MS 4.2.1's mixer, MuseScore hangs and eventually abends. Restarting MuseScore makes no difference. Restarting my computer made no difference. Problem persists after upgrading to Kontakt 7.8.1

I am going to chime in here too. I just downloaded "The Free Orchestra 1 and 2" with Kontakt 7.9. I am on MS4.2.1 on Windows 11. When I try to access Kontakt, it "opens" the program and shows the libraries, but when I open a library, there are no instruments shown, No errors, just an empty screen.
