Can't find Muse HUB sounds in Musescore

• Jan 26, 2024 - 18:11

Hi,
I recently got a new computer and moved my /home folder over to my new machine.
I installed Muse HUB and MuseScore but I can only find the Muse Sounds in my mixer.

I think some path got faulty through the migration (looking at the previous configuration file).
How could I go forward troubleshooting this?

I'm running Ubuntu 23.10 and running the Appimage of the latest download of MuseScore (4.2.1).
I also downloaded Muse Sounds Manager (DEB beta) today, so that's also the latest version.

Thanks

Merely copying the user-visible files over won't be enough - you really need to install Msue Sounds again via Muse Hub, to get everything including the Muse Sampler library.

My advice is start over - delete everything, copy only your files (nothing installed by any program - only files you literally saved yourself), reinstall MuseScore, Muse Hub, and Muse Sounds.

Oh - but first, try restarting MuseScore, and if that doesn't fix it, rebooting. See also Diagnostic / Muse Sampler / Check Muse Sampler. Then if still no luck, start over.

Hi. I had the same pb 2 weeks ago, when I changed my screen. It had en effect on my computeur audio, couldn't explain why. When I reopened Musescore, that I use nearly everyday, I was back with the horrible basic MIDI sounds. Tried to locate the folders and eventually reinstalled everything. Today, I had to disconnect my computer to move it to another room. When I installed it back into my studio, same pb again !!! Does it mean that I will have te reinstal the whole musehub and library each time I disconnect a part of my computer ? Kind of painstaking...

If you installed the sounds onto an external drive, you'll need to make sure that drive is connected. Other than that, though, there shouldn't be any specific issue with connecting or disconnecting any other devices. probbyl just coincidence that whatever it is that went wrong, happened on the same day you changed a display. Definitely not related.
