quarter pitch
Dear !
I would like to define a special quarter pitch in Musescore.
Béla Bartók in his description of folk songs, meny times used an up or down arrow above the note.
It would be nice if I add above the note with Ctrl K an ^ signal, and this would lift the sound level up with a quarter.
In Hungarian folk music there are so-called neutral third. instead of Ctrl K could be any other option.
So if I say, the full scale is c-cisz-d-disz,e.f-fisz-g-gisz,a-b-h-c
there would be a quarter between c and cisz, cisz and d , d and disz.. etc
For us the most important is between disz and e and between b and h...
I think this is not a very hard problem for the development engineers.
also could be the mark downwards, with the same modifications down.
If the program could handle this, I think many folk music musicians would be interested in musescore
I am waiting for your positive answer!
Kind regards, Ferenc Pásztor

There are now some working microtonal accidentals available which you could use.
Using a Chord sysmbol (Ctrl+K) would be the wrong way.
In the Accidentals palette, you can click "More" to reveal many microtonal accidentals.
I think that these extra microtonal accidentals include all the quarter-tone accidentals in the "Gould arrow quartertone accidentals". If you hover your mouse over each accidental, this shows a popup description of the accidental.
For an overview of the "Gould arrow quartertone accidentals", see the specification on the SMuFL web page:
