Playing a single (bass) line

• Mar 16, 2024 - 13:43

I have this piece of music (Hail Glorious St.Patrick) written as attached and I am trying to rehearse singing the 'Bass' line with Church Organ background but cannot make it play without S,A &T lines in the background.
I have tried the 'Mixer' and 'Parts' buttons but that doesn't help. Can you help me, please.

This is not a problem in MuS 3, but as far as I know, in MuS 4 you can't select a single voice to mute. Not anymore or not yet - I don't know.

First you can mute the S/A staff. Then S/A is quiet.

And you can add a single bass staff just below the T/B and use 'Explode' of the T/B staff. You should then get two individual staves for T and B and can mute the T staff.

I don't use MuS 4, so it may be slightly different there.
See the attached file (MuS 3.7). I have muted S/A and T, hopefully it stays in the file. It does, if I repoen it in MuS 3.7.

Mute the S,A staff.
Select the first note of the tenor line.
Right click and scroll to Select>click on More>check the Same Voice and Same Staff boxes. Select OK.
In the Properties Palette (on the left) un-check Play.

Now only the bass line will play
