Pop up of “Edit element”

When I select one or several notes and right-click, a menu appears and when I select “Edit element”, a new window should open, but nothing happens. At some point, I did have a new window opening, but it doesn’t happen anymore. Why? Is the window somehow hidden outside the screen?
What is the problem?
How can I edit an element?
