I don't now and never have had any problem typing lowercase zulu ("z") into any text field, including titles. I've been using MuseScore since version 2. If you're talking about a different character than lowercase zulu ("z") tell us what it's supposed to be coming through as.

What version of MuseScore, what operating system? Did you set up z as a shortcut?
Does Help > Revert to factory settings fix it?

This issue has disappeared after downloading an update that I missed..... All good now.
