How to use Musescore as a midi keyboard player

Hello everyone ... do you know if it is possible to play the midi keyboard freely on musescore? When I tried the notes actually had a definite duration and then stopped, so I found it impossible to play a melody as freely as with a midi keyboard player. I know it is definitely NOT the primary function musescore is used for, but it would be nice for me to have this feature too
