Cantus Firmi/Counterpoint

• Jun 21, 2024 - 19:23

I have an counterpoint assignment where I have to compose a cantus firmi. Some of the requirements are:

  • One line must appear in a major key whereas the other must appear in a minor key.
  • Keys used may not have less than two sharps or flats in the key signature.
  • Your answers must be legible and notated using music notation software.

What I gathered is that the composition has to be notated on 2 staves with 2 different keys (My pick: D major and G minor? I'm a 1st Year, Don't judge me :( . I'm not sure how to change the functions in MuseScore to be played at different keys. Is it possible?

I uploaded my assignment so I can ask anyone if it is possible to do these tasks in MuseScore.
