Is there a quick and easy way to convert an early music score from 3/1 to 3/4 time?
I'm writing an arrangement for players who need to interact with more conventional time signatures, and in the original found here there are triple time sections in three-one time that I would love to be able to easily convert to three-quarter time, keeping the same number of bars and relative note values. I recall the process taking me a long time in the past, but am wondering if the latest version has such conversions automated by now. I appreciate any help that would allow me to streamline this process. Thanks!

As I understand it, 3/1 would be 3 whole notes to a measure. Triple time means something different to me.
Anyway if this is 3 whole notes per measure, practice with one measure to get the feel of it. Select a measure and hit ctrl+C. Select a target measure and go to Edit> paste half duration. Select the newly created notes and do the same thing. Put a 3/4 time signature in the new measure. No idea how many measures you can do at once.
OK I just did it with 8 measures. Ctrl+C , delete (I don't always trust cut) then paste half duration into the same measure. Repeat.

Thanks. I'll try that. Will likely have to go through it twice, though, as 3/2 is half duration of 3/1.

Yes, I believe I said twice. I.E. repeat.

That works! Yer a genius! I did have to do it in two steps, first to reduce it down to 3/2, then again to get it into 3/4. There are LOTS of blank measures I need to eliminate as a result, but that method worded like a charm, even retaining text and figured bass. Thanks, Man!!

Always nice when something works. I confess I've never done that before, so it was a shot in the dark. Good luck.
