How to change the default tempo
I would like to change the default tempo, where I'm going into the tempo palette, and attempting to drag the desired tempo into the score. It's not letting me, however, showing the red "no can do' icon. The instructions make mention of a "button" under "Tempo", but I can't find that unless they're talking about the palette. I suspect this is simple, but I'm just not able to make it work and would appreciate any insight on how to change the tempo.
Thank you

Instead of dragging from the palette it is usually easier to select a note where you want to place the tempo marking and then click on the tempo marking in the palette. The same goes for any other palette item. When dragging it can be difficult to find an allowable "landing zone" - as you have found.
I think that the button you refer to is in the play panel where you can temporarily override tempo markings in the score - once you have undocked the play panel that is.
