changing clefs
If I have an existing score, say, in treble clef, is there an easy way to change the whole thing to a different clef so that, for example, a cellist could play it?

Depending on the actual pitch and how good your cellist is you may well want to transpose the score lower. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/transposition for how to do that.
If you just want to change the clef to bass or tenor but leave the pitches alone then click on the first treble clef in the score and then click on whichever clef you decide to use in the clefs palette. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/clefs#add-change-clef
but be prepared to see lots of ledger lines.
