Exporting Tempo For Synthesia

• Oct 16, 2014 - 00:28

I'm Wondring if absolutely anyone knows how to export midi with tempo from musescore so that it will be played in synthesia. I have seen others midis do this, so i know it is possible. I want to know how to do it or if i will need a different software.

ANY HELP IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

I'm not sure what special quirks Synthesia might have, but in general, putting a regular Tempo Text in your score (the usual way tempo is specified in MuseScore) should work just fine for MIDI export as far as I know. I don't think the temporary tempo overrides you can create in the Play Panel export.

If you don't know what the play panel is, just as well. It is found in the View menu (formerly Display, and it is a way people have erroneously been setting tempo for pieces, not realizing (in part because the Handbook is unclear) that this is only meant as a temporary override.

So my original answer standas - the way you set the tempo for a piece is using Tempo text. Either click a note and press Alt+T to add one, or user the Tempo palette. If you get it playing back the tempo you want in MuseScore, it should playback at that same tempo in the exported MIDI file.
