Deceptive charge to my PayPal

• Sep 12, 2024 - 17:51

I signed up for the free trial and MuseScore charged me. I received an email from them that says they tried to refund me the money but could not because of the PayPal dispute. PayPal said there was no attempt made to refund the money from MuseScore. Someone is giving me misinformation. PayPal said a dispute does not keep a refund from being processed. It sounds like MuseScore is trying to keep my money that they deceptively took. MuseScore support is no longer responding to my emails and conveniently does not have chat or phone support. Any advice?

Upon further reading in this forum it looks like many others have had the same issue. I would imagine there is a connection between the two.

Someone needs to scream at the folks in Kaliningrad once again.

The thing that people don’t mention is that err… anything involving money will benefit the app development, but the business decisions are terrible. Which makes the app look bad. It’s terribly unethical and gross, but I guarantee that someone will find some way to blame you.

I have the exact same issue with MuseScore going on right now. Signed up for what was to be a "free trial" instead they did a bait and switch and immediately charged my PayPal account for $39.99. Were you ever successful at getting your money refunded? There a TONS of people who have experienced this same deceptive treatment from MuseScore. I'm looking for other places to warn people of their deceptive business practices.
