Transferring Muse Sounds to another computer

• Sep 18, 2024 - 19:30

I need to transfer Muse Sounds (downloaded from Muse Hub v2) from one internet-connected computer to another internet-connected computer without redownloading it all on the second computer. Does anyone know the steps to do so? Even just a workaround so I don't have to redownload the whole thing?

Copy over the sound files and also copy over the MuseSampler library file.
You might want to ask this to the Muse Hub/Sounds support though, to provide you with the correct paths for your system.

No doubt that there is a check for the user logged on to Muse Hub (as you can only get the paid library when you have an account) and this account will most likely be linked to the data.
The free Muse Sounds libraries most likely do not include this restriction and this transfer has worked in the past. I did not perform a recent with the latest MuseHub version.

Can the commercial sounds be used offline, when not connected to the internet? (so not logged on at all)
In the past, copying from from one computer to another worked indeed.

Edit: How are these commercial sounds licensed? Can they be used on more than one computer with the same license?

As per the terms and conditions:

You can redownload previously acquired Content to a maximum of 5 devices registered with your Muse Hub account. However, Content may not be available for redownload if it is no longer offered on our Services.

I believe MuseHub requires internet access. I have not tested offline usage yet.

EDIT: Yes the sounds can be used offline, as they don't require Muse Hub to be running.
