MIDI Patch Issue

Why, on exporting to MIDI, doesn't a change from pizz to arco, or the reverse, get reflected on the mid file? I know I did the correct assignment in the Staff Text Properties dialogue! I even ticked the MIDI checkbox, even though nothing appeared in the text are beneath it... Oddly enough, I can hear the sound is correctly changed!
