How to shorten score?

Sometimes in orchestral scores, I'll see that if an instrument doesn't play for a certain amount of measures, they'll just remove it from the score briefly until it comes back. Like for instance, if the horn, clarinet, flute and oboe don't play for 20 measures, they'll be removed for that amount of measures it it will only have the strings and the bassoon. Then when those instruments come back, they'll be readded to the score. I hope my description here makes sense because I'm wondering how you do that in Musescore 4.
