How to make a note not play?

I used to be able to go to properties and then uncheck "play" or something like that. Now it's gone. Also tried going to the "playback" tab but when I change "velocity" to 0 and 1 but it just goes back to the original 64 when I click out of the note. Help?

Now it's gone?! Well, this option is and always has been there, of course (in the current 4.4.3 and all previous versions). Who could have had the crazy idea of deleting it! :)
So, here, still in the same place in Properties panel.
