Hidden playback voice under slash notation?

Hi, I have a jazz score where there is a repetitive bass rhythm consisting of two bars that I don't want to repeat throughout the part. I just want to give the two bars as an example, and use slash notation with a kind of "simile" note for the redundant parts, where the performer can be flexible with the interpretation.

However, I want Musescore to continue to play the two bar patterns underneath the slash notation. I use this as an important reference to my ears during playback checks. I can see that Tools > Fill with slashes will correctly fill empty measures, or put the slashes on the next available voice.

Could I create two voices for a part, where one is the literal playback notation and hidden for an entire staff, and the other is only the unique notation + slash notation for printout on the part?

Or, do I need to create a whole new instrument and hide it from the part? That would be really unfortunate and clutter up the score.
