Staccatos at end of slurs in woodwinds don't play

Whever I have a fast run in a woodwind instrument that leads up to a staccato note, the note with the staccato doesn't play. An example is provided in the image below.

Try flute 2. For example, flute 1 plays the last note, but it is so soft you can't hardly hear it. One of the reasons to not use i for anything.
