MuseScore 4 Studio freezes while scanning audio plugins
New at MuseScore, I tested it and made several sample scores. While exploring some of the setting options, I clicked on MuseHub's factory default as to where the program should be installed. The MuseScore froze and I had to shut it down using the operating system's option to quit unresponsive programs.
Now when I try to reboot the program, it freezes at the beginning when scanning audio plugins. Clicking on a MuseScore file, booting it by clicking the application icon, booting it from MuseHub all results with the program freezing at the same place.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. As an stand alone and with MuseHub and restarting the PC. Hope someone can help me.
Here is the screenshot showing the point where it freezes.

Personally, I use default download locations. I turn off everything in Settings and close the HUB. I only turn it on now and then to check for updates. You don't need it open to use MuseScore. I only start MU4 from the Desktop icon. And I update it from the download page in this forum.
Try to disable that plug-in and see if MU4 will start.
Un-install almost never works.

Thanks for the reply.
Actually I have deleted the HUB for the time being and reinstalled MuseScore. But I get the same result. I was thinking because MuseScore had been working previously, deleting everything might make it work. Is it possible that MuseScore isn't completely deleted and there are some elements of it lurking somewhere?
I also tried to find the "audio vst3" it seems to be stuck on, but a search by that name on disks was unfruitful.

Thank You very much. I was able to find the plug-in which I deleted, reinstalled MuseScore and works perfectly now.

I'm having this exact same problem, but my library/audio/plug-ins folder is totally empty...

I am having this problem also. A different vst. I did not install Hub. I don't have the option of removing my VSTs. I need them for DAW projects.
Is there a command line option or something to tell it to skip the vst scan?

FIXED in my case.
I rebooted and tried again and the scan completed.
(I also disabled some stuff that was running in the background, so it's possible one of those was conflicting in some way.)
