Expanding functionality of the selection filter
The selection filter is probably one of Musescore's best ideas, and I think its functionality could be expanded upon. Here's a few ideas I had.
-
Select specific notes (comma separated):
A text box where, when not empty, your selection is limited to the notes typed in (A-G). If there is a second character before the comma and if it is a b or a # it would interpret that as flat or sharp, a number would specify the octave, a dash would specify a range (ex. A4-G5) -
Select lowest/highest notes in chord
useful for chord editing and quickly creating inversions. Single (non-chord) notes would be ignored by the selection -
Select all notes with/without accidentals
useful to more quickly correct mistakes in multiple chords within the same measure -
Select every n-th note
might be cool for quickly playing around with/editing rhythms of multiple measures maybe? I'm sure there must be some use case for something like this -
Bonus idea:
when selecting multiple notes, have pressing shift+(A-G) stack that note on top of every note like how you would make a chord regularly and automatically select all of the instances of that note in case you want to shift them all to a lower octave

Expanding functionality is always a good idea
