Missing File

I spent about an hour working on a new piece, then clicked "home" and opened a different score to reference it. In the past, opening a new score also opened a new tab, so the previous score did not close. This time, however, it opened the other piece in the same tab, closing out the previous, unsaved piece with no warning. Is there any way to recover the file? I hadn't saved it yet. I am also on a MacBook, using Musescore 4
