PARTS NAMES APPEARING - BUT NOT DELETING

When preparing parts, I am occassionally finding that the Part Name
appears somewhere on the page. It does not behave like a normal
text - I cannot highlight or delete it. I have tried deleting the passage
of music near the unwanted Text but it won't delete. Another factor
- when I move the whole page to the right, as we pass the edge of the
page the Text will suddenly vanish... but when I move back onto the
page it reappears. It is not a HEADER or a FOOTER. Jeff
