input notes
when I try to enter notes I just get a succession of the same note continually filling the score which I can't stop. Any ideas?

I set up a new score; it opens; I choose start point in measure one; I press the pen icon and the cursor appears in measure 1; I choose a duration e.g. a crotchet and position my cursor on a place in the staff, press my mouse and then, instead of a single note the score simply fills in continually with crotchets who will not stop.

I solved it. Last week I tried to connect midi cables, but they did not make a connection. But having chosen 'Allow Midi entries' in Settings I wondered if this was interfering with manual input of notes. Once I switch this off, the problem was solved.
