Options under "File" grayed out - can't save, export, etc
I'm setting up a brand new macbook pro (Sequoia 15.1.1) and am baffled. I was trying to export the audio for an arrangement and, as you can see from the screenshot below, my 'File' options are limited to New, Open and Import PDF. I had no issues with this score on my previous computer.
When I went to open a random older score I had no issues. All 'File' options were available to me.

Reloaded MuseScore to fix a problem (it didn't) but now I have this problem as well. I can Save using Ctrl-S, thank heaven... But what happened?
I see nobody has answered this. I have the same (or similar) problem - import a MIDi score, make some changes, and... everythig on the File menu is grayed out except New, Open, and Import PDF. And yes, my PRO subscription is paid up. The only way I can save this score is to go to Publish and export it as a MIDI file; I can't save it to the MuseScore format that way, though.

PRO subscription has nothing to do with the free notation editor MuseScore Studio.

I would strongly recommend exporting as MusicXML rather than MIDI. What you get when you re-open the file will be much more likely to be what you want it to be.
Pentatonus is right: the PRO subscription (or its lack) has nothing whatever to do with the MuseScore Studio notation application, only with the musescore.com web page.
I recall having seen a number of cases of this having been reported several months ago, but it's my impression that the issue was fixed in one of the last few updates since I haven't seen it for a few months. Try to find those old threads and see if they have any solutions.
I experienced the same thing today after downloading MuseScore4, using on a MacBook Pro, but when I closed everything out on my computer and rebooted, I went back in to MuseScore 4 and my file menu is back. I hope it works for you too.
I am also seeing this using MuseScore Studio OS: macOS 15.1, Arch.: arm64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.4.4-243461245, revision: 2232670 after editing a score. Quitting and restarting MuseScore worked -- the grayed out menu options were available. I tried opening the score from the recents page and by double clicking the .mscz file (quitting and restarting each time) and it worked both ways.
