End of pedal line not aligning with notehead

Maybe I'm missing something but ... in the latest MuseScore 4.4.4, the end of a pedal mark doesn't align with the notehead - it seems to align with the nominal end of the note's duration (or in other words, just before the next note). I don't recall this being an issue before.

I am selecting the first and last notes - where I want the pedal up/down - and clicking the pedal line in the keyboard palette. The result is the pedal up/down mark in the wrong place, and the pedal lines overlapping.

Is there another way I should be doing this?

Update: this appears to be a regression in 4.4.0 -- it didn't happen in 4.3.2.
