I dislike the new drum notation :(
Okay, so, I'm trying to write a piece of music that uses the drums quite a lot but the problem is that the new notation is halting everything. The box that pops up blocks my vision and takes up half of the screen when I dock it, I can't add rests to the second voice for some reason because it reverts back to the first voice every. single. time. and ultimately I have to add bass drum in first and then add my rests, and It's hard to navigate when there's either word boxes or example notation boxes. Why can't it be both words and example notation boxes? It doesn't feel good to try to find a certain intstrument when you have to hover over each box to figure out what it is. To be fair, I am not a drummer, nor do I write for drums well, or I'm just not adjusted to the change yet but this first impression leaves a bitter taste in a mouth that's usually filled with Musescore's savory flavors. (That was kind of poetic). Is this just a skill issue? 😭

I agree. Big L.
But, thankfully, you can just go to: Edit -- Preferences -- Percussion. There are several options in there to customize the new percussion panel, including the option to turn it off completely.

Thank God, and thank you too! I honestly thought I’d have to deal with that stuff for a while 😭

I like the idea but it has errors and needs further implementation:
It makes MS unstable where it won't keep up with my instructions and it freezes (windows 10 Dell laptop).
1. For some reason, even though the pads have a note name and a secondary note name, when I press these letters on my Laptop keyboard the note doesn't input, instead I have to press the pad with the mouse which takes more time...
2. Also, how do I write in 3 part or 4 part with clearer kick (voice 4) defined as separate to rimshots & snare (voice 2) with hi-hat/ride (voice 1) on top?
3. Note head change isn't working with this new module and subsequently my students won't know they need to employ a rimshot on every snare in the verse.
4. The modual pops up but always in the way and it doesn't remember where I dragged it (down to the side).
I actually like the idea of these pads and being able to employ them as visual tools, especially with students who may be using this new feature to complete their arrangement work, it's a good idea

Thanks for the removal tip! I'll do that for now.
