Enter the tablature. Verify that it's correct. Then correct the errors. (I promise: there **will* be errors :-)

Then go to the Layout panel (yellow highlight; if you have a version before 4.5, it's called Instruments). Click the arrow to the left of the instrument name (green highlight) to expand the subitems. Then click the gear button to the right of the Tablature staff; NOT the gear button right of the instrument name.

On the dialog that appears, click the dropdown labeled Staff type.

Then select Standard at the top of the dropdown list.

You can switch it back and forth as you need or you can add a Linked Staff and have them both display.
