I overwrote a score. Can I get the original back?

• Jun 26, 2025 - 00:03

I used one score as a base for another and accidentally pressed Ctrl+S instead of Shift+S, so what I was doing was saved, overwriting the original score.
Can I get it back?

Thanks for any help.

No, but you might be able to find a backup of an earlier version and, at least, save some time re-doing things. Might, not probably.

Depends where you saved it. If you're using a proper cloud service like Google Drive or OneDrive, you can check the version history and restore the one you want. If you're saving locally or to the MuseScore cloud, probably not. If you still have the score open, you could save a copy, and then press Ctrl+Z repeatedly until you get back to how it was before you made the changes, and then save it.
