I think this would be confusing. It is not normal behavior for tabs. I can see I lot of people right-clicking on a tab, accidentally selecting delete, and loosing their work.

maybe a better term would be 'CLOSE TAB' instead of delete
the tab would only remove the tab from the session not delete the actual file
it's the same thing as clicking on the red X in the tab
if you don't save then you lose your work
but MuseScore will ask you before this happens
as for normal behavior for tabs -- this is how it works in Firefox
