Q about meaning of text categories

What's the intended meaning of "staff text" versus "system text"? In Musescore, they seem to do identical things.

And is one of these how designations such as ritardando and rall. are intended to be entered? I couldn't find these under tempo.

Staff and System text differ if you create an excerpt. System text is always exported to the excerpt.
Ritardando etc. is not yet implemented. You can use any tempo text and then edit it.
