Articulation placement
I believe that common music practice allows articulations to be placed within the staff or outside of the staff, depending on comfort.
I would like to post a strong vote for placement outside the staff. When reading fairly high speed segments, its just so much easier and less cluttered to have the articulations outside the staff.
Thanks.

I meant to attach an example.
Sometimes accents (sforzato) are outside side of the staff. Style > Edit General Style > Articulations offers three placement options: next to the chord, above the staff, and below the staff. Unfortunately there is not a generic "outside the staff" option.
Other articulations are always next to the note (for example staccato, mordent, etc.)

I often see staccato outside.

If I understand, articulations are attached to the notes but somehow they and the notes are on a different "layer:" than the staff is on, so that graphically it is hard to "program" exact placement? Is there a missing link in the relationship?
Regards.
