improved MIDI input, and/or drag and drop interface

• Jan 18, 2010 - 02:52

The two things I don't like about MuseScore are the lack of a useful MIDI input option, and the less-than-intuitive note entering system.

In its current state, the MIDI input feature is not much better than a standard computer keyboard. It would be much more useful if it also controlled the note length as well as the pitch.

Also, I have been using noteflight , which seems to have a better interface than MuseScore. In MuseScore, the note input method, as it is, seems rather slow and cumbersome. One of the biggest problems is the inconvenience of deleting and re-adding notes, and having to constantly switch between "note input modes". Adding the ability to drag existing notes, and combining the two input modes into one with both adding and editing capability, would make the interface much easier to use.

MIDI input has been discussed elsewhere on this forum several times so I won't repeat it here.

You mention the "inconvenience of deleting and re-adding notes". Could you give a specific example?

You also mention "having to constantly switch between 'note input modes'". Could you give an example of when you are constantly switching between note input modes?

When you say "combing the two input modes into one with both adding and editing capability", which input modes do you mean?
