delete note keeps cursor on new rest

At the moment, if I select a quarter note in 4/4 and wish to change it to a triplet starting with a rest, when I strike delete the note which was selected changes to the rest but the rest is not selected, necessitating an extra click to select it before the new operation can be preformed.

I would like the rest to be selected as the default.
