Showing Symbols palette via shortcut "Z" doen not work
Using MuseScore beta 2, I suddenly noticed that my shortcut key Z does not
show ( a pop up window) the Symbols palette anymore ( I need some brackets around a note head).
Checking via MuseScore 1.3 everything is O.K. Cannot check it using the
beta 1 version due to the overwrite of this version during installing version2.
My O.S. is Win 7 64 bit.
Can anyone give some advice please?

is in Accidentals the symbol you are looking for?
Or: View / Master Palette
For some reason, this shortcut - also Shift+T for time signature and Shift+K for key signature - seems erratic. Works on some syste,ms but not on others.
Meanwhile, though, you shouldn't need or want the Symbols palette to add notehead brackets. Just click the note then double click the bracket symbol in the Noteheads palette. Much simpler, as it adds both at once and positions them for you (although you might need to fine tune).
Shoudl you need to open the symbols palette at some pont, it's part of the Master Palette, which you can open via the View menu. Same with time and key signature.

Thanks Soichi and Marc, to my shame I was'nt aware of the brackets at the right down corner of the 'Accidentals' palette although I have used this palette a thousant times!

Well, the behavior is new for 2.0; it wou;dn't have helped you in 1.3. But note, you want the version on the "Note Heads" palette, not on the "Accidentals" palette. Currently, they both work on notes, but this may change in the future - it's been proposed that the brackets on the accidental palette automatically add a courtesy accidental and parenthesize it instead.

My mistake (hurry and lack of attention), fortunately there are the caretakers ;-)
