accordion sound
I don't know if this has been mentioned before, and it is rather minor, but the accordion voice is horrible. It sounds out of tune, and it makes it very difficult to work with. Maybe it's time for an improved version in 2.0? It's particularly bad compared to how good the organs sound.
still beats sibelius though - no accordion at all - every free reed aerophone comes out as a church organ. and not even a vary good one at that.

Ciao James, (you're on Linux)? Have you tried a Nightly?
Compared to 1.3 the accordion seems improved. Probably, if it's your preferred instrument you should look for a appropriate soundfont (and maybe someone here might suggest?).
The accordion in the Tim soundfont included with 1.3 isn't great, but Fluid is better - the former will be replaced with the latter for the forthcoming 2.0 release.
In the meantime, you could download Fluid here to use in 1.3.
I'm afraid the accordion sound in Fluid is pretty nasty too. It seems to have been generated from a sample which has had phasing added to it to emulate the dual reed sound most accordions are capable of.
To my ears, which are accustomed to hearing the real thing played well by a friend of mine, it sounds perfectly obnoxious, and I suggest you use the Reed Organ sound instead, until something better has been found.
