No rests in 3rd voice

Yellow shows that the notes selected belong to voice 3.
Yellow rests shows what happens when I remove the double dotted half. There are no rests for the voice.
I need those rests because the remaining 1/8th c is the melody on the repeat and is an alternate to the first time played. I intend to bracket it and have a text explanation.

You can add a rest by choosing a duration, clicking on the rest icon in the note entry toolbar, then click on the score to add the rest.
