Minor Major 9

I want a minor 9 chord with a major 7.
This was as close as I could come to it, but this is unreadable. The major 7 instruction should be in superscript.

Regards.

I wish to write a minor chord with major 7th using the jazz font. It doesn't look very good at the moment!

How about enabling the use of a natural sign before the 7?

i.e. Cmi (#7) where # is the natural sign. (#7) would be in superscript.

Great timing on this! I've spent the better part of the last couple of days customizing jazzchords.xml to a) produce nicer results by default and more importantly b) more easily allow you to customize things further. I know you've been active in many of the discussions on the various issues and options with chord symbols, and I've taken many of your ideas into consideration. I believe you are aware that you can always customize jazzchords.xml to get the look you want, so I assume you are really saying the default should be different for this chord. I agree.

Most of my efforts at customizability have focused on allowing you to edit just one line near the top of the file to instantly change the behavior of all related chords - both in terms of what you need to type to produce the chord and how the chord is displayed. This particular chord, however, is something of an anomaly, since it is one of only two chords that include both the abbreviations for minor and major. I normally write these using parentheses, which is also how it is done in both Real Book and the New Book Book. But there are a few other types of chords that also might either use parentheses or superscript (or both), and I hadn't come up with a way to make this easier to customize if you prefer using superscript.

So now I've given the matter more thought, and now I have a nice scheme where a simple change at the top of the file controls whether parentheses or superscripting are used for all of these chords. So thanks for the suggestion!

BTW, I do plan to make my customizations available soon.
