Add more instruments, enter the notes, place system breakers a suitable spots, hide empty staves.

Thank you, that's a good work-around.
Having tried your suggestion, I would add two items: 1) extend the bar lines to cover all staves, and 2) use the bracket symbol to make reading easier and hide all brackets that show up on single staves.

That isn't really a workaround, but the real fix :-)
And hiding the barackers on single staff systems isn't needed but happens automatically, although in 1.x it may not appears to be the case, there you may need to reload the score to see the effect.
