Saving Headers or Textboxes

• Mar 22, 2015 - 19:27

When I separate the parts of a score, I would like them to use the same title or header layout for each part.

Would love to be able to save the layout of these elements so I can import them to the other parts or to other scores.

I'm aware of that, thank you...

I'm talking about when I need to add it in after the fact, and I don't want to re-apply the style (because I've already updated the existing style. I don't want to transfer a template because I've already laid out the score.

If I understand correctly the request, it seems to me you can do it.

Let's assume a scenario like this:

  • A score with several instruments
  • Parts have been created and work begun on them
  • Mid-way working on a part, you notice the style needs some changes

How to replicate these changes to the other parts, without manually re-entering each datum in each part?

Possibly the solution is:

  1. Complete working on one part
  2. Save the style of the part in a separate file (menu "Style | Save style...")
  3. Load the saved style into each of the other parts.

If you feel adventurous, you may even manually edit the style between step 2) and step 3) (it is a pure text file), to leave in it only the settings you care about, removing all the others: a style file needs not to be complete, only the settings actually present in it will be set.
