Porbably means you still have settings left over from an earlier beta or nightly build that used that particular score. It's been changed since then. Assuming it starts up normally fter that, just go to Edit / Preferences and change the option for what it tries to do on startup. The new version of "My First Score" is the same but ending in ".mscz" instead of ".mscx", if yuou want to do that.
You might also consider running once with the "-F" option to reset *all* your settings to factory defaults, as there might be other old leftover settings that will cause other problems.
