HELP HELP HELP!!! Lost File!

• Apr 11, 2015 - 09:38

I use Version 1.3 of MuseScore, with the new Apple Yosemite update. The past couple of days, I've been working on a Fuga, and spent a considerable amount of time on them, within those days. Musescore had crashed on me, and there wasn't an option to recover that file. I've read what to do, but I don't understand how to do it, or even if it works with the update my computer is running on. In my Musescore preferences, I have the autosave option activated; it saves every minute. I really need this back ASAP, and it's just my luck that I lose it one day before I really need it. So if you please, any suggestions or solutions? I got really far into the piece, and I don't think it would be worth it to continue where I last saved. Anyway, thank you so very much!

If you restart MuseScore, it should ask you if you want to continue last session and open your score again.
If it's not the case, go to where you last saved your piece and see if you can find a file with a leading dot and ending by .mscz, (including the comma). If you do find this file, rename it and remove the leading dot and trailing comma.

If it doesn't work, go to the top right of your screen and press the magnifying glass. Enter "Terminal" and press Return. Enter the *exactly* the following and press return.

open Library/Application\ Support/MusE/MuseScore/

A finder window should open with several MSCZ file. One of them, probably the younger, should be your piece.

When you are done with your work. Please upgrade to MuseScore 2.0. It should be a lot more stable on Yosemite. See https://musescore.org/en/download
