inserting pedal markings several times when only once requested
When dragging the pedal marking across to the score several markings may be installed when only one is needed. I first detected this problem when trying to make them invisible with the inspector panel and finding it required several attempts to delete all the extra marks before I could make the last mark invisible.
I am certain I only clicked once with the mouse when dragging and the extra marks are intermittent, but it is usually only 1 or 2 extra marks the highest I have had is 7!!! This is not a very important problem but I report it because it maybe a symptom of something unusual going on. My system is win xp sp3 and MuseScore 2.0.1. The system is not unstable in any other way and the optical mouse is not giving any problems. You may see the problems in bars 45, 47 and 48 which I did not notice until I was making them invisible. I couldn't purposefully create the problem today but it has occurred in all files I created in the past few weeks at different times and to differing extents.

I have never heard of this happening before, but if you ever figure out steps to reproduce this, please let us know. For now, there is nothing to do but advise you to delete the extras.
I'm guessing, though, that these were created by copy and paste, and that you accidentally pasted the same measure multiple times. That would have exactly this effect.

your intuition (about copy and paste) seems to be correct. In my example, which I enclose here, I copied the bass clef of bars 55 and 56 to bars 51 and 52 and got the extra pedal markings. It is a fairly trivial error, but it is a bug.

See #45361: copy/paste and "R" do not delete slurs or lines in target measures. The problem is, there are some situations where you'd want a paste operation to delete existing lines (in which case the current behavior seems like a bug), but also other situations where you definitely *don't* want existing lines on paste (in which case, the current behavior seems correct). I'm not sure it's easy or even possible to define an exact set of circumstances that we could test for to detemrine when it appropriate to keep the existing lines and when it is not. But it is definitely worth thinking about.

Clearly there is no easy answer to this but a warning, in the documentation for pedal markings, that this might occur might be helpful.
