3-staff piano score

Where the left hand needs to cross-over to the higher register, that part is often shown on a third staff. In Musescore, this can be done via 'split staff'.

My question is: can I restrict that split to only sections of the score? Currently it applies to the whole piece, which is very inconvenient. I tried using section breaks, but no use.
