Violin clef in Drumset piece with percussion clef

• Jun 13, 2015 - 16:25

Is it possible to add Violin clef in a piece written in percussino clef? Like in this example, I need to write few bars of violin part with smaller notes for percussionist to know exactly where to start playing.
I don't want to write all the piece in any pitched key.

Unfortunately, no direct way to do that right now. You can create this effect indirectly by creating the part with two instruments - the cue staff and the regular staff - and use of the empty staves option. Creative use of horizontal frames could even allow the changeover to appear on the same system, but it's pretty kludgy. Direct support for this some day would be nice. I m hoping it can come with a proposed change to allow other staff properties to change mid-score - in particular, transposition.

This is important for percussionist playing in orchestra or ensemble. All orchestral percussion parts have these (I don't know word for this) "hints". It would be perfect if was implemented in future.
Because right now I think the easiest way is to write percussion on one staff as a normal pitched instrument in violin clef. But it's not proper way.
